Five Quick Questions: Pauline Le Pape

Five Quick Questions: Pauline Le Pape

1. WHAT’S ON YOUR CURRENT PLAYLIST?

Sevdaliza’s new album is constantly in my ears at the moment. Rhye is my favorite music to work on. It makes miracles for me in terms of focus.

2. SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW?

I was raised in a working-class family. It might sound irrelevant, but the design field is statistically hardly approachable for individuals that grew up in this social class. I think it shaped a lot of my practice, for the good and the bad. Getting more experienced, I’m trying to reflect on it and turn it into quality rather than a burden.

3. A RECENT PURCHASE THAT YOU REALLY ENJOY?

The quarterly magazine Real Review published by REAL Foundation, edited by Jack Self. I’m collecting all the issues, they all are brilliant, and it’s always a nice object to look forward to getting in between my hands.

4. WHAT HABIT ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPLEMENT OR GET RID OF AT THE MOMENT?

At the moment I’m trying to be easier with myself, as long as I feel balanced. In short—and French, “me foutre la paix”.

5. A BOOK THAT CHANGED YOU?

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.
