Five Quick Questions: Chidy Wayne

Five Quick Questions: Chidy Wayne

1. WHAT’S ON YOUR CURRENT PLAYLIST?

I’ve been listening to a lot of original samplers so I understand what’s behind most of production in hip hop and house music. That means lots of jazz, latin, soul and funk. I’m also a big Prince fan and now I’m listening to some of his live shows. One of my new favorites is the live show The Sacrifice of Victor (London, 1995).

2. SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW?

I have some knowledge on music production myself and a music studio inside my atelier. I love to create analogies between sound and image.

3. A RECENT PURCHASE THAT YOU REALLY ENJOY?

A pair of combat boots. I’ve been wearing combat boots for a while now but these new ones are so light and still have that powerful look for my winter style.

4. WHAT HABIT ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPLEMENT OR GET RID OF AT THE MOMENT?

Cheap dopamine provided by social media. It’s the enemy!

5. A BOOK THAT CHANGED YOU?

Funky Business by Jonas Ridderstrale and Kjell Nordström was a life changing book I read in my early 20s. It helped reinforce some ideas and shape a new vision of the world. The book was ahead of its time.
